Severance Pay Ceiling

The annual wage used as the basis for severance pay may not exceed the highest severance amount paid to civil servants. The ceiling is updated twice a year in line with civil servant salary coefficients. The ceiling in force on the date the employment contract ends applies.

Only stamp tax (7.59 per mille) is deducted from severance pay; the portion not exceeding the ceiling is exempt from income tax.
