Independent Audit

An independent auditor's opinion, to international standards, on the financial statements of companies subject to the Turkish Commercial Code, the CMB, the BRSA and the EMRA.

What is Independent Audit?

An independent audit is an independent opinion on whether your financial statements are presented fairly. Shareholders, investors, lenders and regulators make decisions on the strength of that opinion, so the quality of the audit reflects directly on your company's reputation.

At ARSEN, every audit is led by one of the founding partners. We support our risk-based methodology with data analytics and strengthen fieldwork with analyses run over the entire transaction population. The result: smaller samples, sharper findings and a management letter that genuinely adds value for management.

What does our Independent Audit work include?

  • Audits of financial statements prepared under TAS/TFRS or the BOBİ FRS by companies subject to independent audit under Turkish Commercial Code No. 6102
  • Audits of CMB-regulated companies (listed on Borsa Istanbul or planning an IPO) and of entities subject to BRSA, insurance and EMRA regulation
  • Audits of financial statements prepared under IFRS and US GAAP, in accordance with International Standards on Auditing
  • Audits of reporting packages to foreign parent companies under group audit instructions
  • Limited reviews of interim financial statements
  • Audit and internal control testing for companies within the scope of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Coordination of consolidated financial statement and subsidiary audits

Frequently asked questions about Independent Audit

Is my company subject to independent audit?
As a general rule, companies that exceed at least two of the total assets, net sales and headcount thresholds in two consecutive financial years are subject to audit; some industries have separate thresholds or a mandatory audit regardless of size. You can check right away with our audit requirement test.
When should the auditor be appointed?
The auditor is elected by the general assembly within the financial year to be audited, and in any case before the end of the fourth month of that year, and is registered with the trade registry. Early appointment allows year-end procedures such as planning and stock counts to be carried out on time.
How long does an audit take?
It depends on the size of the company, the number of subsidiaries and the maturity of its closing process. By separating the interim audit from year-end fieldwork, we reduce the pressure on the reporting date.
