What is Lease certificate (sukuk)?

A capital market instrument issued by asset leasing companies to finance specific assets or rights, whose return is paid to investors as rent or profit share.

Lease certificates are structured in line with interest-free finance principles; there are ownership-based, management-agreement-based and partnership-based types. They are an alternative source of finance for companies.
