What is TFRS 20 (Regulatory assets and liabilities)?

The standard enabling entities with regulated tariffs to report timing differences between periods arising from the tariff mechanism as regulatory assets and liabilities.

In regulated industries such as energy distribution, natural gas, water and transport, costs incurred in one period may be reflected in the tariffs of later periods. By making these rights and obligations visible in the financial statements, TFRS 20 improves the comparability of performance between periods.
